Something extremely light made its debut at the Vuelta

What does professional cycling have in common with safety footwear? More than you might think. During the first rest day of the Vuelta a España, Safety Jogger and Soudal Quick-Step joined forces to tease one of our biggest safety footwear innovations yet.

When every gram matters

In professional cycling, every gram matters. From bikes and helmets to shoes and bottles, every detail is carefully considered in the pursuit of lighter, smarter performance.

That same pursuit of lightness inspired what we’ve been working on behind the scenes at Safety Jogger.

The result? We’re not ready to reveal it just yet. But we did bring a first clue to the Vuelta.

“So light, it should be illegal”

During the first rest day of the Vuelta, the Soudal Quick-Step men’s team took to the road in an exclusive jersey created together with Safety Jogger.

Instead of revealing the product itself, the jersey carried one bold message:

“So light, it should be illegal.”

And that’s all we’re giving away for now.

What we can say is that we’ve been rethinking what lightweight safety footwear can feel like – without losing sight of the protection professionals rely on every day.

How light are we talking? Think of a cycling bottle or a lightweight running sneaker. That should give you an idea.

From the Vuelta to your workplace

The special jersey brings together two worlds where performance matters: professional cycling and workplace safety.
